Parent Resources

Raising Children Network

The Raising Children Network is supported and partially funded by the Australian Government. It contains practical information on a wide range of issues which has been developed by experts in the field, consulting with parents. For example, it includes an A-Z Health Reference, Parenting in Pictures (step by step guides for essential baby care skills) and Healthy Meal Ideas. It also has information about looking after yourself (Grown Ups) as well as about your children from newborns to school age.

The Links and Resources part of the Raising Children Network website is also very extensive.

ABC Parenting

The ABC Parenting website contains lots of helpful information about parenting and children. We especially like their Activity Guide with things to make and do, learning resources and games (for a rainy day). There are also links to ABC News Stories (ABC Stories) about the latest research and studies in early childhood. A section of Children & Media is presented in partnership with the Raising Children Network, and the ABC Parenting website includes information about their educational and kids programs on TV and Radio (TV & Radio).

ACECQA

Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is a national entity overseeing important changes to early childhood education and care and school age care in Australia.

NSW Department of Family and Community Services

Formerly the Department of Community Services (DoCS) – responsible for licensing child care centres. The website also includes parenting advice and information about child care (click on ‘Parents, Carers & Families’).
