Early Childhood Teacher
Having initially studied hospitality management, I decided to change career direction after attending a careers days which ignited my interest in the field of early years learning. Exploring the options available, I enrolled in a Diploma of Children’s Services which provided me with a great blend of theory and practical learning, leading to employment as an Advanced Childcare Worker. At this point, I decided to further my studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Teaching (Birth – Five). Qualifying as an Early Childhood Teacher, I joined Lee-Lin and her team in January 2011 where I have been fortunate in teaching so many wonderful young children, and partnering with our local families in the education and care of their children.
My personal teaching philosophy is underpinned by play-based learning, with all children being recognised as individuals where they have a strong sense of identity and wellbeing. I approach my teaching role with much enthusiasm and creativity, and believe that the learning and development of young children must be encouraged and supported in a safe and nurturing environment. In my spare time, photography is becoming my number one hobby, with most weekends spent with my camera in hand.
